The Pool Is Open

It's Outdoor Wednesday at A Southern Daydreamer again! I love this blog party, it's always so much fun to visit all the other bloggers.

Ah yes, the pool is open! Hurray!! Yesterday the pool was 80 degrees so we dived in. My sweet little Amber cat here has been in so much since school let out Friday she already looks like an Amazon. Tan little thing... Doesn't that water look inviting?

Mr. Braxton here found out that he could hold on to the poles here and swing his legs out and he just thought that was the best thing in the world. He played and played with the steps and swang his little legs for the longest time.

Yes it's true, you can play football in the pool.

Boys will be boys..... we already have our first summertime injury. Braxton wanted to go down the slide & I sent his sister up with him. He wasn't quite ready and he slid down with his arm on the side of the dry hot slide and got a friction/heat burn. OUCH. "Don't touch my boo boo." is what you will hear if you come anywhere near it!! Oy, the guilt. Bad mommy.

Since the Caribbean is out of the question we had a fun time pretending we were there Barney style... we used our imaginations. We pretended we were at the hotel pool or sunning ourselves at a bright white beach. You know, it was really nice. I have even cooked dinner in my bathing suit the last two days. Reminds me of my Florida days. Ah, those were some good times. I think I must have lived in my bathing suit and my Publix uniform. It was one or the other ha ha.
Since I am exercising every day now I have changed things up a bit and started doing 30 minute laps around the pool. Boy, is that an ab workout too. Friday is weigh in day again.... I lost 1.5 lbs from my first whole week of exercising last week. We'll see what this week brings in. I'm thinking of starting a Fitness Friday Series. It may be fun and provide some accountability. I am saving for a Zumba workout tape too. I love to Zumba.... anybody have one they don't want anymore? I'd rather buy one second hand for less than full price retail any day.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my little tour of our Outdoor Wednesday. We love to be outside and I am sure we'll be swimming around again today. Speaking of outdoors, I was asking God yesterday morning before I set out for an appointment to let me see Him that day. Boy, the whole outside just seemed so glorious to me. The trees jumped out at me, the mountains, everything just seemed so beautiful and as I was thinking about how I hadn't noticed just how beautiful it is here where I live lately I realized....... it was God showing me Him. What a beautiful home he gave us!! Once again I was reminded that if you want to see Him, take a step outside. His glory is all around you!!

Thanks for jumping over and visiting my blog. The pool looks so wonderful. I am enjoying reading your blog and am adding it to my daily list of reads. I get excited reading about the wonderful things God is doing in your family. This may sound a little strange coming from someone you do not know at all but this morning as I was reading your post, I felt compelled that I should send your family some books on tithing. No, I promise you I am not a fruit cake with some wierd doctrine. You can find my church here www.faithcovenantchurch.co,. Me and my husband are the youth ministers. I would be so honored if you would allow me to do this. You can email me at jtalb85@bellsouth.net.

Great fun! Try Youtube for Zumba - I'm guessing you can find a video workout on there. It might not be 30 minutes long, but I bet you can find enough 10 minute ones to equal a workout. Also, there are lots of websites that offer downloads of video workouts. Just google it. As a former personal trainer, one of the best at home workouts you can do is jump rope for a minute, rest for 30 seconds, get down and do as many push ups as you can (on your knees is fine) and then repeat the whole thing. As you progress, you'll be able to jump rope more. And the fun thing is, your daughter can jump rope with you. It's cheap and VERY effective and a BIG calorie burner. Good luck.
